The third Australian Shareholders’ Association’s biennial national conference was held on 17 – 20 May 2009 at the Hilton Sydney. If you attended the conference, we hope you enjoyed and thank you for your support. GONSKI CALLS FOR GREATER BOARD ACCOUNTABILITY ON REMUNERATION
Speaking at the Australian Shareholders’ Association National Conference in Sydney, David Gonski AC, Chairman of the ASX and CCA, said “remuneration matters are indeed difficult decisions for board of directors but should be left to them and not made the subject of prescription by legislation”.

CHRIS CATON OPTIMISTIC ABOUT ECONOMY
BT Financial Group Chief Economist, Chris Caton, was optimistic about the economy while speaking at the Australian Shareholders’ Association National Conference, Prosper 09, in Sydney.
He said, “We have finally got too pessimistic about the Australian economy.”
